It must be Christmas, because somebody turned the lights
on in St. Céré this week. Judging by the early evening
photo above, they forgot to tell anyone! Don't want to be
spoilsports, but there are not that many shopping days left until
Christmas. (bah, humbug! - Ed)

Right on cue with last weeks snow flurry, came a little Russian
visitor, fresh from the Steppes. Seems to think that our snow is
warmer than Putins! Probably right. Let us hope it stays that way.

The Caribbean came to St. Céré this cold November
night - and very welcome it was too! For a review of the evening,

Poets Day has now turned into First Friday... some of you
couldn't stand the pace of meeting up every week! So, from
now on, the first Friday in the month will be the day we meet
at the Café Voyageurs, to put the world to rights and
for for a drink or two. If you are out and about - join us.
Café Voyageurs, Place de la République, St.
Céré. First Friday of every month.
Don't forget, if you can capture a French (or even an American)
friend who is trying to learn English, there can be no better
way for them to practise, than to join us.
STOP PRESS: Just been
told that, bacon sandwiches will be served using locally sourced,
traditional English-style back bacon. Sounds too good to be
missed...
See you there?

Moving from their temporary location in Place Gambetta,
Maison Siadou has finally re-opened at its Rue de la
République premises, following its complete re-build.
The business was started by the present owners grandparents
in 1848. Moving into Rue de la République in
1933, it survived unscathed during WWII, only to be
burnt down in the spectacular fire of 4th August 2004.
(I slept though it - Ed)
