OK, so it's not St. Céré, but it is the only
local English language radio broadcast nearby, that we could come
up with. It happens every Friday morning at 09h.03 or, for those
of you not able to get to a radio at that time/cannot get reception,
you can access the radio's website and listen to archived shows
on the following link (once you get there, click on an item button
to listen to that broadcast):
Hosted by Brit, Julia Branch Evans, the emphasis every week is
on People... particularly Brits who have made the move to France
and who have suceeded and, occasionally, those who failed!
Of particular interest to many of you here in St. Céré
(we know, because you tell us what you miss most about being here)
is the fact that the Limousin is to get their very own Fish and
Chip mobile van service. Tune into the station on Friday morning
10th October, to hear how Chris and Carol Williams plan to operate
their mobile "Salt N' Vinegar" service.

So, the Dordogne have them... now the Corrèze... anybody
out there want to start up one around here? Mobile Fish and Chips,
that is, not a radio station. Mind you....Ed

As part of the European Challenge Competition, the Newcastle
Falcons will play Brive on 16th October. The last time the two teams
met, Johnny Wilkinson played a bit of a blinder and Brive were trounced.
Which served them right for beating Newcastle the time before. Could
be a bit of a needle match, this time as both teams will be all
out for a good win. Unfortunately, it looks like Wilkinson will
not be joing the Falcons on the turf a Brive stadium - he underwent
surgery on a dislocated knee recently. For the latest news concerning
Johnny's injury and the visiting Falcons team, visit their offial
website. Click their website page image above or the link below.
Although Johnny Wilkinson will not be playing, Ben Cohen, Steve
Thompson and Andy Goode will be.... for Brive!

The Cireon 2CV is 60 this month. Nicknamed the "Poubelle",
France beat Hitler to it, in designing the first "People's
Car". Trouble was, Hitler invaded France so Citreon hid the
plans and the project languished until 1948 allowing the Volkswagon
Beetle to get on the road first. Launched to an unsuspecting post-war
public at the Paris Motor Show, the much loved French icon was in
continuous production until 1990 - a staggering 48 years and some
4 million cars later.
So next time you see that restored two-tone red and black one parked
in Place de la République ... show a little respect and give
it some room!
This years Paris Motor Show is on from 4th to 19th October
