The annual 3 Chateaux Rally took over Place de la République
this weekend, along with many a (normally) quiet country lane around
St. Céré. We have put together a few photos of the event,
snatched whenever the cars stood still long enough!. Clicking on a
small image below will pop-up a larger one. There remains for us to
ask two questions from those in the "Know"... who won and
who is Sabine? |

Thursday night saw the second Local Producers Market and "Gourmand
Picnic" of the summer. Place de la République was packed
with locals and visitors alike, as the serious business of choosing
what to carry off to the picnic tables got under way. Clicking the
photo above, or the link below, will pop-up a quick slide show of
the evening.

Hard to pick out just a single stall, but that of Michel Thomas
caught the eye.

Honey producer Michel is based in St. Paul de Vern, so you could
not get much more local than that! Got an allergic reaction? Well
they say that locally produced honey can alleviate the symptoms.
Try it. You can contact Michel by e-mail,
to find out where you can buy his local honey.
Clicking on any of the three small images above will pop-up a
larger version.

Fresh off the Ryanair from East Midlands and getting
stuck into some Amstel. Dave and Ken chose the sunniest
day of the week to arrive in St. Céré
to visit friends. Bon Vacance.

Accosted in the street by the quaint custom of demanding
money on pain of a hug, this wedding party strayed into
our line of site. Identifying himself as Stephane Beauregard,
we were unable to determine whether he was to be a groom
or best man or whatever. Whether alcohol had been taken
is anyones guess, but the bizarre conversation we had
is proof positive that not eveything in black and white
makes sense!

We do not know who she was, but this bride, radiant,
in spite of the dull grey afternoon, was spotted wandering
serenely past the Café Voyageurs, followed by
her wedding party. Now as you know, normally, the first
you know of a wedding is when they convoy around town
several times with horns blaring. We prefer this bride's
version. She paused for just a moment... long enough
to grab the snap. We wish her... Bon Chance!

In the Auberge in Autoire, the Honey family grab a quick
beer before heading for the St. Céré Night
Market. Architect Chris, barrister Becky and sons Sam
and Nat were spending a few days in St. Céré
with friends before heading South to Perpignan and,
hopefully, a bit of sunshine!

Man about town Speedy, relaxing over a pizza and enjoying
the caberet put on by the Night Market dancing girls.

Out for a cool night stroll, Svetlana and mutt Susie
seemed to be enjoying the hustle, bustle and music at
the St. Céré Night Market.
