If the recent spell of cold wet weather has not convinced you then
the sudden sound of silence in the streets and alleyways of St.
Céré should at least alert you to the changing of
the season.
Yep, as summer slides gently into autumn the kids have gone back
to school.
Universally known as La Rentrée, parents across the land
have been out shopping for their kids new school bags, to be filled
to bursting point with all the things that schools demand must be
provided. We reckon that France alone keeps the world glue-pen manufacturers
afloat!

General Canrobert Looks On
The image above from last years' St. Céré End of Summer
Fête, shows General Canrobert looking calmly over Place de
la Répubilque.
Which is misleading, as La Place is far from calm at Fête
time, as St. Céré launches itself wholeheartedly into
the party
Bands in the street... loads of stalls selling good (and bad!)
things to eat and funfair rides to make you giddy is the order of
the day and night! Make a date for your diary, but one word of advice...
eat after you have been dragged onto one of the stomach churning
rides!
