UK Travel From New Airport a Step
Nearer Reality
CityJet will be the first low-cost airline to fly into the new Brive
Vallée de la Dordogne (formerly, Brive Souillac) airport,
commencing 25th June. For many Brits living in the area, this will
bring the reality of easy low cost travel to and from the UK, just
that bit closer to reality. OK, Rodez, Bergerac, Limoges... we use
them all, but they are all a bit of a trek for many of us here in
the North Lot.
For those of us trying to get to London, these flights will be
extremely popular, as the airline flies direct into London City
Airport.
The first outward-bound flight departs Fridays at 14.35 arriving
17.10, while the last inward bound flight departs London on Sundays
at 19h.25 arriving 20h.00. Published (non-promo) fares start at
59 euros one-way - inclusive of taxes and all charges.
This summer 2010 flight schedule of 3 flights a week (Friday, Saturday
and Sunday), will be maintained until mid September. If successful
the airline expects to increase the number of weekly flights later.
Heading Our Way - CityJet Aircrew
Interestingly, the Irish registered airline (part of the Air France/KLM
group) sees their initial target market as second home owners of
French property in the region, living in London and the South East...
a target market hitherto claimed as their own, by Ryanair.
So, Will Ryanair Fly Fly Into Brive?
Again, this still seems shrouded in some secrecy. There is, however,
a persistent rumour, that Brive Airport Syndicat, is baulking at
having to pay Ryanair 340,000€ a year to add the airport to
their French schedules. As arrogant as ever, Ryanair do not answer
e-mail queries into their press office.
There again, rumour also persists of Flybe negotiating to fly into
Brive... a fact we have been unable to confirm. That leaves CityJet
and the Paris Orly commuter airline, Airlinear, the only airlines
so far signed up to use Brive-Vallée de la Dordogne.
As soon as we get further information about any other airline negotiating
adding Brive to their schedules, we will publish the news Here.

Melinda and Andrew Thompson - Have
You Seen Them? Interpol
are assisting the Australian Police in trying to trace this little
boy, who was abducted and removed from Australian jurisprudence.
Without trying to take sides, the fact remains that the Australian
authorities believe that Andrew is at risk and that his mother (Melinda
Thompson aka Melinda Stratton) may be suffering from a mental disorder.
The advice is not to approach her if seen, but to contact the Gendarmerie
or the search website: http://www.findandrew.com/
